Beech Spring term
Posted: Apr 4, 2025 by: Debbie Bagwell (dbagwell) on: Beech Class
Wow, what another extremely busy half term in Beech class! We ended the first half term with a special Number Day where we all enjoyed taking part in many different ‘number themed’ activities. We had some amazing costumes, and the highlight was a crazy ‘Bonkers Bingo’ session with pom poms, inflatables and lots of fun songs!
We have carried on with our Transport topic, and the pupils have all enjoyed a trip to the Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland. All the pupils did us proud, showing lots of interest and developing their social skills in a different environment. We have also had a focus on things that fly in the sky. We have explored kites and just recently designed our very own kites to take home.
We have been learning about Spring through a sensory story called ‘Hooray for Hoppy’. We have all been busy exploring lots of different resources and some pupils have been using communication boards to show their understanding. With the warmer weather arriving, we have taken the opportunity to take our learning outside. The pupils have been busy developing their communication skills as well as gross and fine motor skills. Our new bubble gun has been a huge hit!
We have also enjoyed a ‘Wear it Red’ day for Comic Relief this half term. We decorated biscuits (and enjoyed eating them) and even the Attention Time bucket had a red nose! We had lots of fun developing our attention and listening skills through turn taking activities, such as knocking the cup tower down. All the pupils thought it was very funny when Vicky had a silly red nose and crazy hat on! Lots of giggles and fun!
In RE we have been learning about the Hindu festival of Holi and recently begun to talk about Easter. We have listened to a simple Easter story and have enjoyed lots of Easter activities. We hope all the pupils have a fabulous Easter break and can’t wait for the summer term ahead!
