Autumn term

We have all returned to school after the summer holidays ready to get busy! We have welcomed four new pupils into Acorn class so far and we are still looking forward to meeting one more.

This term we will be learning about ‘Seasons and Celebrations’ so we are planning plenty of exciting activities.

We will be using birthday celebrations to work on recognition and sequencing of numbers, using candles, balloons and cards. We will print patterns to make our own wrapping paper and play lots of fun games and activities using resources related to birthdays. We will also have the chance to make and taste different foods related to the celebrations and party foods.

We will also be learning about the changing seasons from Summer into Autumn when we will celebrate Harvest, the leaves changing colour and also moving into Winter learning about the changing weather with ice and snow. Of course, we will be exploring the celebrations of Bonfire night, Diwali and Christmas. It should be such a fun term!
